Battle for Premier North Survival!
Wednesday 28th November will be a make or break day for the future of Hull in the top tier of university rugby league as they face the University of Leeds in a must win game.
As the table currently stands, there’s 3 teams all fighting for 4th place as Nottingham University, the University of Leeds and the University of Hull are all tied on 6 points, with the points difference being the deciding factor. This means when Hull face the University of Leeds on Wednesday, it’s crucial to get the win. This would provide the 3 points needed to tip us past Leeds and with two extremely tough fixtures of Northumbria and Leeds Beckett following, would likely give us the edge overall in this survival race.
Defeating Leeds would likely put Hull finishing 5th, as Nottingham University have a decisively easier fixtures list ahead of them, meaning heading into the play off games facing 4th place from the premier south division which from current standings would be Gloucestershire University 1st team who are currently at 2 wins from 7 games this season.
This would place Hull in good stead for a strong play off campaign and hopefully allow a good finish to the season.
